DTCP Approval

The Town & Country Planning Act (T&CP Act) of 1971 superseded by latest tamilnadu combined and building rule 2019. The Tamil Nadu T&CP Act, 1971 governs the operations of the Directorate of Town & Country Planning (DTCP), which is led by the Director. The Housing and Urban Development Department (H&UDD) of the Secretariat oversees its operations. With the exception of the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA), the department has jurisdiction over the entirety of Tamil Nadu.

You will require authorization from the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) to carry out any building activity. Even though you may own the land, you are not allowed to construct a home on an agricultural property, according to the law.
